Mail is an email app for businessmen and women to make their work email more efficient and helpful.
This mail app was designed purely out of a frustration with the current condition of business emails for most employees. Subject lines are often too formal or unhelpful, organization of emails is difficult, forgetting to do something in response to an email is inevitable, emails that you send are not responded to and are forgotten about, sending things at an appropriate time is annoying, and drafts can be forgotten about.
This may seem obvious but when it comes down to it, our emails basically serve as an ever changing to-do-list. We are told to respond to so-and-so, do such and such a project, look at this, do that, read this, and buy that. The way most of our emails function makes staying organized and keeping up with all of this very difficult. So I decided to approach the idea of a mail app by starting with a to-do-list and then working the mail component back in. The calendar and the concept of time is a heavier focus than the people sending the emails and their often unhelpful subject lines.
Some of the key features include tagging emails instead of titling (tasks), scheduling a reminder to respond to non-urgent email (snooze), follow up reminders that notify you when an email you sent was not replied to in a set amount of time, delay when an email gets sent, check boxes for finished projects.
The mail app is in its early stages but I plan on continuing to push the designs and ultimately create a prototype as the next step in my iterative design process.
